History of establishment
Founded in September 2013, Kien Binh Minh Co., Ltd. is a community-oriented social enterprise specializing in the research and development of practical, affordable assistive technology for the visually impaired.
The company was born from a fateful encounter and deep empathy between two philanthropic minds: inventor Dr. Nguyen Ba Hai and businessman Mr. Nguyen Huu Qui, Director of Kien Vuong Co., Ltd. Combining scientific knowledge with a strong dedication to community welfare, Kien Binh Minh Co., Ltd. was established to bring the "Mat Than" (Haptic Eyes) to life — a modern sensor-based eyewear device that helps the visually impaired detect obstacles, navigate independently, and regain confidence in their daily lives

About the Haptic Eyes
People with disabilities, including the visually impaired, often face significant social, physical, and emotional challenges. According to psychological studies, individuals who lose critical senses—such as sight—frequently endure complex psychological barriers and feelings of self-doubt, which inadvertently build a wall separating them from the surrounding world.
Globally, there are approximately 40 million blind people. In Vietnam, statistics from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs report around 1.4 million visually impaired individuals out of a total 5 million persons with disabilities. The visually impaired face numerous obstacles in their daily routines and personal mobility.
Operating Principles & Key Features
- Obstacle Detection Sensor
The eyewear utilizes proximity sensing technology to scan for obstacles ahead within a pre-programmed range. - Haptic Feedback Signal
When an obstacle is detected—especially high-level hazards that a traditional white cane cannot detect, such as truck beds, low-hanging tree branches, or street signs—the glasses transmit a direct vibration signal to the user. Using intuitive vibration patterns, the variations in intensity and frequency allow users to perceive distance and proactively avoid hazards. -
Lightweight & Convenient Design
Through seven (07) continuous iterations—evolving from an initial bulky "helmet" prototype—the current Mat Than features the sleek, lightweight design of standard eyeglasses, ensuring maximum comfort during extended daily wear.
